Caring for your jewellery

As with all things precious to you, your jewellery also has to be looked after. Precious metals will become discoloured and tarnished if they come into contact with perfumes, make-up, chlorine, lotions, hairsprays, household cleaners etc. So it’s best to put your jewellery on last when getting ready and to remove your jewellery before it may come into contact with any of the above.

As your jewellery is exposed to skin oils and the air a natural discolouration and tarnishing will occur over time. Wiping your jewellery down occasionally with a polishing cloth will restore its shine. SimilarlyΒ tarnishing, a natural process that occurs with silver does not constitute a fault.

Try not to wear your jewellery in the bath or to bed, or even when exercising, as this can cause unreasonable wear and tear.

The best way to care for your jewellery when you’re not wearing it is to keep it in an airtight zip-bag or box and stored in a cool, dry place.

Every piece of MurrayandMe jewellery is sent with a complimentary polishing cloth and jewellery care card, which will guide you on how best to care for your jewellery.
